Hi, my name is Bouke van der Bijl. I’m a programmer and endlessly curious about the world. On this website I sometimes post about things I’m doing or something that’s on my mind.

Work

In the past I worked at Cheddar Payments, Shopify and DigitalOcean. Right now I’m a Robotics Software Engineer at Terraform.

Books

I really enjoy reading and keep track of everything I’m reading, if you have any book suggestions then please send them my way.

These are the categories of books I especially enjoy:

• Books that try to explain the whole world through a single thing e.g. Energy and Civilization, Salt: A World History.
• Science Fiction, favorite series: Three-Body Problem.
• Books about criminals, especially if it’s financial or online crime. I like American Kingpin and The Mastermind.

Projects

I have three apps on the iOS App Store:

• WidgetPack allows you to make your own iOS widgets using Shortcuts.
• GizmoPack which adds power user functionality to the to the Shortcuts app. I blogged about creating this app.
• HTTPS4All which is a port of HTTPS Everywhere for iOS.

I created a spaced repetition bot for Telegram, which I blogged about as well.
